A Poet To His Beloved

 Bring you with reverent hands
 The books of my numberless dreams;
 White woman that passion has worn
 As the tide wears the dove-gray sands,

像海潮冲涮的深灰色沙滩，

And with heart more old than the horn
 That is brimmed from the pale fire of time:
 White woman with numberless dreams

 心灵比犊角更显苍老悲凉
 盛满了岁月苍白的火焰：

我给你带来充满激情诗篇。

 威廉•巴特勒•叶芝（William Butler Yeats，1865--1939）是19及20世纪爱尔兰最受欢迎的诗人，剧作家，散文家。出生于都柏林。曽于1923年荣获诺贝尔文学奖。叶芝注重诗歌的形式，对诗歌语言精雕细琢，主张写诗要有梦境的朦胧，含蓄和超俗。其作品富有浪漫主义的色彩，颇具音乐美，代表作有《茵尼斯弗利岛》，《心愿之乡》等。


 原诗为扬抑格除了第一行诗是三个半音步，第六行诗是四个半音步，其他均是4音步诗，原诗为八行，各行音步数为3·5/4/4/4/4/4·5/4/4，原诗的韵式为ABCA   CDBD.
